Let me start by saying welcome to my website. I’m so happy that you decided to be a part of my journey. My name is Christal Walker and I am a wife and mother of two children. I was blessed to have one of each, a daughter and a son and I’ve been happily married for 18 years now. Currently I work full time as an HR Specialist here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I was born and raised.
I started this blog during the pandemic where I found my passion for reading and writing again. Prior to having a family I used to read often and kept a journal that I wrote in everyday.
While being a mother, wife and coworker, I didn't make my hobbies of writing and reading a priority - something I'm sure many women have struggled with.
Wearing many hats can often leave you feeling depleted and doubtful that you can have it all.
During the height of the pandemic in 2020, the world slowed down tremendously for my family. Once we got into a new routine with online school and teleworking from home, I had a little more free time. I started journaling again and finding new books to read. Even though I loved (in some ways) being quarantined I also discovered that many people were struggling with some form of mental illness because of the struggles that the pandemic brought. I struggled watching those people struggle. I just felt for their situation even though I wasn’t in the same position.
I started spreading loving messages on Facebook and Instagram as a way to encourage and inspire people. To be honest I had no idea what I was doing and sometimes I still feel I don’t….I just wanted to share my life’s journey to let people know they are not alone and we all are dealing with something….some insecurity, some sadness and or doubt, but if I can help just one person I know this personal journey of my own won’t be in vain.
So what is heart for success? It’s a way of living. We all want to be successful, however you can achieve success in many different ways. My idea of success is hard work, dedication and loyalty to those who show you the same without jealousy or envy. I want everyone to win. I don’t want us ladies to compete with each other anymore. You know how we can be ladies….
There’s room for everyone!
